With the spirit of Aloha in mind, Barry Hatchett’s 10th Annual Beach Shorts Film Fest returns to the South Bay and that means it’s time to submit your very own short film. The Beach Shorts Film Fest aims to showcase the love, gratitude and innate beauty that come from identifying with a beach lifestyle. At the actual event audiences get to view a wide range of salt water induced recreation captured inside short films, 6 to 10 minutes in length (surfing or beach lifestyle is usually the theme). The screening night is a fun filled family event that brings together amateur and professional filmmakers from the South Bay and beyond. The last date to submit a short film is August 1st. The Beach Shorts Film Fest takes place on Saturday August 20th at the Hermosa Beach Community Center where some of the best amateur short films can win prizes. Tickets to the event are $10.
