Tucked neatly against the bustle of Sepulveda Boulevard in Torrance sits at least ten acres of naturally preserved wetlands ready for anybody to explore. The Madrona Marsh represents one of Southern California’s last remaining vernal wetlands and is constantly teeming with wildlife. It has been managed and conserved with the help of a non-profit group called Friends of Madrona Marsh.

Metalachi at Saint Rocke: Friday, September 23, 2016 – 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM Hailing from Hollywood California via Juarez Mexico, Metalachi is a musical/comedy stage show that somehow seamlessly blends the world of Spinal Tap and Cheech & Chong into an over-the-top stage spectacle. The group is a 5-piece ensemble of classically trained mariachi musician brothers, that have been fused together with the power of heavy metal. 21st Annual Redondo Beach Lobster Festival September 23rd, 24th, 25th at Seaside Lagoon
The Redondo Beach Lobster Festival returns to Seaside Lagoon 6:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. The 21st rendition of RBLFF weaves together the bounty of Maine lobster, craft beer, Grammy-nominated bands, a Lobster Bistro and family-friendly activities like stand up paddle boarding lessons and a “Kiddie Area” for a deliciously groovy 3-day weekend. more info

Movie Under the Guns : Friday, September 23, 2016 – 7:30 PM Bring the entire family for “Movie Under The Guns” on board Battleship IOWA. This month’s movie will be the 1995 animated musical adventure Pocahontas. The movie is FREE and will be held outdoors on the ships’ fantail. Limited seating is available. Beauty of Nature Film Series Screening: “Touching the Void”: Friday, September 23, 2016 – 7:00 PM This year’s The Beauty of Nature series brings outdoor enthusiasts together to celebrate the beauty in our natural surroundings.
