Event Description

The outstanding documentary film “Rebel with a Cause” about the amazing life of Aiko Herzig Yoshinaga will be presented on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the Library Community Room at the Katy Geissert Civic Center Library.

After the film presentation, Janice D. Tanaka, Film Maker and Director will speak about the film and Martha Nakagawa will talk about working with Aiko to archive and house the 30,000+ documents at UCLA and an opportunity to ask questions.

This historically accurate documentary was featured at the 2016 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAPFF). The film documents Aiko Yoshinaga’s role in the redress movement for the unlawful imprisonment of Japanese Americans in WW2.

Admission is free to the public.
