Event Description

Our fourth annual “Champions for Children” 5 K Run/Walk will once again be held at the beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden. The event features a new course that includes a loop with slight inclines around the tram road (taking you past the Upper Meadow, the Rose Garden, the Cactus Garden, the Rare Fruit Orchard, through the impressive Banyan Grove), another loop around the outer perimeter of the garden, then through the trail roads and back to the finish line.

The  family-friendly run/walk also features a Kids Fun Run and a wonderful Children”s Festival filled with activities for children of all ages.  Race registration before May 18th includes a t-shirt and goody bag.  Proceeds from this event benefit South Bay Children”s Health Center (SBCHC), a nonprofit, 501 (c ) (3) social service agency that provides high-quality dental and mental health services to more than 25,000 under-served children, teens and young adults each year.
